Tariff HIKE By Airtel, JIO, BSNL, VI
The rising prices in the telecom sector have hit your and our pockets hard. Finally, what was being speculated before the elections has turned into reality. The country’s three major telecom companies have increased their tariff rates in such a way that it now seems difficult for the common man to use mobile phones. But what can we do? Even with these expensive plans, using a mobile phone is now a necessity. Without it, we consumers have no option. Hence, we have to bear the brunt of the high costs. However, if any telecom company offers some relief, Airtel is one such company providing customers with a cheaper option.
It is being speculated whether BSNL will become the market leader over the three major telecom companies: Reliance, Jio, and Vodafone Idea. We are not making this claim, but questions are being raised. As soon as the three private companies announced the price hikes, BSNL started trending on social media. Users are saying that if we want cheap and good plans, it is better to opt for BSNL.
Amid this, BSNL Rajasthan’s official plan was also claimed and presented. But are the prices of Jio’s plans still very cheap? Let’s find out about the duration and prices of the different recharge plans of these four companies. The price of Indian Airtel’s plan has increased from ₹3399 to ₹49. The prices of Jio 4G plans have increased by 20 to 21%, with prices rising from ₹1559 to ₹899 and ₹1999 to ₹3599.
Vodafone Idea has also announced that it is changing the prices of its prepaid and postpaid recharge plans from July 3, with a cost increase of up to 20%. With this, the price of Vodafone Idea has become ₹509, offering 84 days of validity and 6GB of data. Now, let’s talk about BSNL’s plans. The government telecom company BSNL has not announced any increase in its tariff plans yet.
The notable thing is that the price of BSNL’s plan is currently ₹7719. Airtel has introduced a plan at ₹ with 45 days of validity, offering 2GB of data per day, unlimited calling, and 100 messages per day. Private companies currently do not have such a cheap plan. However, there are often questions raised about the government deliberately ruining BSNL because while private companies are preparing for 5G, BSNL doesn’t even have 4G yet. Amid this debate, BSNL has launched a cheap plan, which might prove useful for users.
