There has been a significant change in the British elections this time. After 14 years, the Labour Party has returned to power with Keir Starmer’s Labour Party achieving a major victory. Rishi Sunak’s Conservative Party has faced a crushing defeat. According to the results so far, the Labour Party has won more than 360 seats, while the Conservative Party has managed to secure only around 80 seats. After the defeat, Rishi Sunak said that he takes responsibility for the loss and also congratulated Keir Starmer on the phone.
The Labour Party’s seat count 366 and the Conservative Party’s 84. As predicted by the surveys, the Conservative Party has lost more than 250 seats, and that has happened. Reaching barely 100 seats was anticipated for them. The accuracy of the UK’s election surveys must be acknowledged here, as most surveys had similarly predicted over 400 seats for the Labour Party. The halfway mark has been crossed by the Labour Party. Following this, Rishi Sunak made a congratulatory phone call and also announced to his supporters, appreciating their hard work.
The most important statement came from Starmer, saying, “We fought for this, you voted for us, and we have won. The time for change has come, and this change will begin.” He made this announcement in his initial victory speech. Now, the results are clear, marking a historic win for the Labour Party, bringing them back to power after 14 years.
