Today, Bethesda Game Studios is celebrating the one-year anniversary of the release of Starfield, its first new intellectual property in 25 years and its first sci-fi franchise. On Twitter/X, Bethesda thanked the millions of players who made this first year ‘incredible’ (June 14th, we heard). Plus, they say there’s still more to come, starting with the Shattered Space expansion that launches on September 30th.
They took the opportunity to share some new hints about what will be in Starfield Shattered Space:
- 🪐 Over 50 new locations to find and explore in Va’ruun’kai.
- 🔥 New grenades that generate from organic material you collect (it’s gross).
- 👾 POWERFUL NEW ENEMIES – Beware the recovered and roaming Terrors…
- ⚔️ You haven’t seen the last of the Zealots, Spacers or the Crimson Fleet… As you explore the planet, look out for those who take advantage of the situation.
We previously learned from Bethesda that Shattered Space will add new zero-gravity battle sequences that will change players’ approach to fights and add new tactics. The developers also introduced new ship customization options that allow players to customize their ships to suit their play style, and some new tools and gadgets that help players interact with the environment in deeper, more meaningful ways.
Overall, Shattered Space is a return to Bethesda’s old style of exploration, as most of the expansion will be set on a single planet. It will include denser content like hidden quests and unique encounters, which fans are accustomed to from The Elder Scrolls and Fallout.
It won’t take long before we check out for ourselves whether it will be better received by the community than the base Starfield game. Wait!
