Shah Rukh Khan’s security cover has been reportedly scaled up to Y+ category by the Maharashtra State Intelligence Department (SID) in view of recent ‘imminent and probable’ threats to the actor. According to reports in a news portal, the police have not divulged the nature of the ‘threat’ that SRK is facing, but the decision was taken after a recent high-power committee meeting in which threats and security to the superstar was reviewed. In the Y+ category, Shah Rukh will get 11 security personnel, including six commandos, four police personnel and a traffic clearance vehicle. Cops would be posted at his bungalow Mannat, the police reportedly informed. Reports further stated that the security cover will be on a payment basis and will be there until the next high-level committee recommendation and review committee decision. Notably, SRK had allegedly received death threats from an Ayodhya-based seer named Paramhans Acharya following a row over the song ‘Besharam Rang’ from his film ‘Pathaan’ which was released earlier this year. Meanwhile on the work front, Shah Rukh Khan has delivered two blockbuster hits with ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan’ this year, and is next gearing up for the December-release of Raju Hirani’s ‘Dunki’.For more news and updates, stay tuned to ETimes.
