Directorate of Education, Bikaner has published Shivara Panchang for the functioning of schools in Bikaner from 1st July 2024 to 30th June 2025 for the session 2024-25. The summer session in schools will be from 1 April to 30 September 2024. At this time, the school timings are from 7:30 am to 1:00 pm with each period being 35 minutes and the total school time being 5:30 hours.
The winter session of schools is from 1st October to 31st March 2025 and the school timings are from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, which means the school takes a total of 6 hours, out of which the first 6 periods are of 40 minutes and the last two periods will be of 35 minutes each.
Timings of schools running in two shifts
In the summer season, from 1 April to 30 September, the school runs in two shifts. Each shift is from 5 am to 6 pm for 35 minutes.
Thereafter, during the winter, from October 1 to March 31, the school timings will be from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, with each shift being of 5 hours, with the first five periods of 35 minutes each and the last three periods of 30 minutes each.
In a two-shift high school, students from grades 9 to 12 attend in the first shift and students from grades 1 to 8 attend in the second shift.
In a two-shift high school, the first shift has students from grades 6 to 10 and the second shift has students from grades 1 to 5.
School holidays
The mid-term holidays in schools will be from 27 October to 7 November 2024, followed by winter holidays from 25 December to 5 January 2024. After this, there is summer vacation from 17 May to 30 June 2025. The first examination in schools will be held from August 21 to August 23, the second examination from October 14 to October 16, half-yearly examinations from December 12 to February 24 on February 3, 5 and 6.
