Siddharth Nath Singh, co-in-charge of Andhra Pradesh BJP elections, met Telugu Desam Party national president N. Chandrababu Naidu and congratulated him on the victory of NDA allies in the general elections.
According to the initial trends coming from the Election Commission of India (ECI), the TDP-BJP-Jana Sena Party (JSP) alliance seems to be handing a crushing defeat to the ruling YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) in the Lok Sabha (LS) elections.
From a record 22 MP seats in the 2019 elections, the YSRCP is facing a humiliating defeat as the alliance has made a tremendous impact on the voters with its promise of good, visionary governance.
A single poll was held in Andhra Pradesh on 13 May for the 2024 general elections, which was the fourth phase of the 18th Lok Sabha elections.
From a record 22 MP seats in the 2019 elections, the YSRCP is facing a humiliating defeat as the alliance has made a tremendous impact on the voters with its promise of good, visionary governance. In 2019, TDP had won three MP seats, but emerging trends clearly indicate a reversal of YSRCP’s misfortune.
In the 2019 elections, YSRCP won 22 seats and TDP won 3 seats and in the 2014 elections TDP won 15 seats, YSRCP won 8 seats and BJP won 2 seats. The TDP-BJP-JSP alliance may signal a change as TDP’s exit from the NDA in 2019 saw BJP’s vote share drop from 7.18% to 0.96% in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, which is even lower than NOTA.
Heavy voting takes place in Andhra Pradesh; There may be an anti-incumbency effect.
