The second part of Hemanth M Rao and Rakshit Shetty’s Sapta Sagartache Yellow, titled Side B, dropped on Prime Video on January 25 and has now closed.
The sequel to Hemanth M Rao’s intense love story Sapta Sagartache Yellow Side B, starring Rakshit Shetty, has arrived on OTT on January 25, more than two months after its theatrical release. The film’s producer Rakshit had offered the first installment, Side A, to Amazon Prime Video, though the details of the deal were not made public.
As of this week, Sapta Sagartache Side B is not on the platform. The team and the streamer did not respond to queries about this. At the time of its theatrical release, Side B did not have any OTT partner, but it was expected to be picked up by Prime Video since Side A was already in place. Rakshit, who had a previous deal with the streamer for 777 Charlie, which was only in stores in languages other than Kannada, is opting for a short-term deal and is now taking it to another platform.
The satellite rights of Sapta Sagartache Elo Side A and B are with Zee Network and Side B is expected to move to Zee5 soon. Official confirmation is awaited. Incidentally, the OTT deal with Prime Video for Side A was done by Pushkar Mallikarjunaiah, not Rakshit.
Sapta Sagartache Elo was initially supposed to be produced by Pushkar and was later handed over to Rakshit. By then, Pushkar had sold the OTT rights to Amazon Prime Video under the assumption that it would be a film. As part of the deal, Side A was given to the streamer, while Rakshit was free to sell the Side B rights.
Sapta Sagartache Elo follows Manu (Rakshit), the driver of a rich businessman, who pleads guilty in a hit-and-run case and agrees to serve a short jail sentence. But when the rich man dies and his family refuses to handle Manu’s legal affairs, the hit-and-run goes awry, and he is sentenced to 10 years in prison. How this affects Manu’s relationship with his girlfriend Priya (Rukmini Vasanth) forms the crux of the story, which details Manu’s life after his release.
