The slogan of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ was raised during the Congress victory. Amid the desire to oust the Congress government in Karnataka, the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report has set the Congress on the back foot.
According to local Kannada media, FSL did not find any change in the video celebration of Congress MP Syed Nasser Hussain.
On February 27, 2024, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alleged that slogans against Pakistan had been raised outside the Karnataka Assembly. This is reported to have happened after Naseer Hussain was announced as one of the three Congress candidates who won the Rajya Sabha elections.
A complaint was lodged on behalf of BJP at Vidhan Souda police station as well. The party also launched a ‘Raj Bhawan Salo’ campaign demanding an investigation by the Intelligence and National Bureau of Investigation.
The video of the ceremony was broadcast on the TV channel sent to FSL. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has vowed to be strict if the FSL video proves that the message to Pakistan has been raised. Siddaramaiah said that there is no room to talk about the protection of those who have raised slogans in support of Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Priyank Kharge, son of Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge and a minister in Siddaramaiah’s cabinet, was quick to defend his party over the issue. On his X (formerly Twitter) handle, Kharge shared his thoughts on the situation. He argued that if the man had shouted loudly in Pakistan, people would have handed him over to the police. Kharge also alleged that journalists did nothing when ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ was raised.
Other Congress leaders Randeep Singh Surjewala and Supriya Shrinate also supported their party on the issue.
Meanwhile, Baitaki city police arrested Mohammad Shafi Nashibudi. Merchant and supporter of Syed Nasir Hussain. He participated in this program and his voice model was tested.
