India’s largest electric two-wheeler maker Ola Electric has officially launched its first EV motorcycle series.
Ola Electric CEO Paavish Aggarwal unveiled three new models Roadster X, Roadster and Roadster Pro, priced between Rs 74,999 and Rs 2.49 lakh (all prices ex-showroom). The company has opened bookings for all three bikes.
The Roadster X is Ola Electric’s entry-level offering, designed to take on the popular commuter motorcycle. The bike has a sleek, futuristic design, with sharp lines and a closed-off panel where a conventional engine sits instead of the battery. It comes with a single piece seat and a cleverly placed charging port where the fuel cap is.
Under the hood, the Roadster X has an 11 kW electric motor and offers three battery options: 2.5 kW, 3.5 kW and 4.5 kW. The top variant accelerates from 0 to 40 kmph in just 2.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 124 kmph with a range of 200 kmph. The bike also features a Combi Braking System (CBS) with disc brakes and a 4.3-inch LCD display powered by MoveOS 5.
According to Cartoq, deliveries of the Roadster X will start from January next year at just Rs 74,999 (ex-showroom).
The Roadster takes things up a notch with a sportier design and a 13 kW electric motor. Available in 3.5 kWh, 4.5 kWh and 6 kWh variants, the top model offers an impressive range of up to 248 km. With four riding modes and a 6.8-inch TFT touchscreen, the Roadster comes with premium features like cruise control and AI-powered cruise assistant.
Expected to be delivered in the last quarter of FY25, prices start at Rs 1.05 lakh (ex-showroom).
For those seeking ultimate performance, the Roadster Pro is the star of the range. The beast is powered by a 52 kW motor, with the top-end 16 kW variant offering 0 to 40 kmph acceleration in just 1.2 seconds and a top speed of 194 kmph. The Roadster Pro is packed with the latest technology, including a 10-inch TFT touchscreen and advanced digital features like ADAS and traction control.
Priced at Rs 1.99 lakh and Rs 2.49 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom) for the 8 kWh and 16 kWh variants, deliveries of the Roadster Pro will begin by Diwali next year.
