To prevent irregularities in the appointment of home guards and to complete the work with transparency, the Chief Minister has ordered that according to the constable recruitment system in UP, the appointment of home guards will be done through the police department. The guard should be 10th and 12th pass. Maximum age 50 years.
Candidates who qualify the Home Guard written exam for recruitment to 42000 Home Guard posts in UP will be called for a fitness test followed by document verification, medical and appointment. 42000 Home Guard jobs in UP will give the youth a chance to prove their abilities.
Home Guards are to be recruited in Uttar Pradesh after 13 years. Candidates passing the written exam will have to undergo physical efficiency and medical tests. Till now, Home Guards were recruited on the basis of physical efficiency test and health test only.
According to the order of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the new rules amending the Home Guard recruitment system will give preference to ex-servicemen and NCC applicants, the logic being that they can confidently discharge law and order responsibilities just like the police.
