Sports Desk, New Delhi. England has won the four T20 match series 2-0. In the last T20 International match, England defeated Pakistan by 7 wickets. Two matches of the series were canceled due to rain. Before the T20 World Cup, England’s victory over Pakistan will boost the morale of the team.
England captain Jos Buttler won the toss and decided to bowl first. Captain Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan gave a fast start to Pakistan. Both added 59 runs for the first wicket. Babar scored 36 runs on 22 balls while Rizwan scored 23 runs on 16 balls. Usman Khan scored 38 runs.
Four Batsmen Did Not Open Their Accounts
Apart from these three, experienced batsman Iftikhar Ahmed contributed 21 runs and bowler Naseem contributed 16 runs. Six batsmen of Pakistan could not touch double figures. Of these, four batsmen could not even open their account and Pakistan was limited to 157 runs in 19.5 overs. Wood, Rashid and Livingstone got 2-2 wickets for England.
Strong Batting of Butler and Salt
In response to Pakistan’s 158 runs, English captain Jos Buttler and Phil Salt batted brilliantly while maintaining their IPL form. There was a partnership of 82 runs between the two in 6.2 overs. Phil Salt scored 45 runs in 24 balls and Butler scored 39 runs in 21 balls. Will Jacques contributed 20.
Haris Rauf Got Three Wickets
Jonny Bairstow and Harry Brook led the team to victory by seven wickets. Bairstow returned unbeaten after scoring 28 runs and Brook 17 runs. England won the match by scoring 158 runs in 15.3 overs. The only successful bowler from Pakistan was Haris Rauf. Rauf took 3 wickets for 38 runs in 3.3 overs.
